Every Halcyon shutter is built in our Mascot workshop. Nothing is pulled from a container, nothing is re-badged. If we couldn't make it ourselves, we wouldn't sell it.
The studio
One workshop, one crew, one ethos.
Halcyon started in a small Bondi workshop in 2008. Seventeen years on we're still making shutters one home at a time, in our Mascot studio, by the same crew. Here's who we are.
The founder
Eleanor Wright. Seventeen years in.
"I started Halcyon because every shutter quote I'd had on my own home was wrong. Wrong measurements, wrong finish, wrong frames forced inside the wrong reveal. I knew there had to be a better way to do it — measure properly, build properly, install properly. So I made one."

Fixed-price, in writing
The number on your quote is the number you pay. No escalation, no surprise extras. Scope changes mid-build are absorbed at our cost up to week five.

Our own crew, every install
We don't subcontract installs to whoever has the day free. The team that measures your home is the team that builds and installs. Same names, same standard.

Lifetime workmanship guarantee
In writing on every contract. If a shutter ever fails because of how we built or fitted it, we come back — for as long as you own the home.
The workshop
Mascot, Sydney. Open since 2014.
1,200sqm of dedicated joinery space. Three CNC stations for precision cuts, six hand-finishing benches, a dedicated finishing room with extraction, and an oven curing rig for the painted panels.
You're welcome to visit during the consultation phase — we'll walk you through the build floor, show you panels at every stage, and you can see the people who'll be making yours.
Timber stock — sustainably-sourced basswood, kept at workshop humidity for 30 days before milling.
Corner detail — mitred joint, brass hinge, hand-finished in Ivory. The standard.
